ART BYTE CRITIQUE: CREATING AN ARTIST COMMUNITY
Gotta admit, I’m pretty lucky. Creating art can be a lonely endeavour. Having a safe community to discuss one’s work and share ideas is invaluable. For me, Art Byte Critique has been my art home.
Arthur Huang started a meetup which evolved into a more structured, but still open and informal, format that became Art Byte Critique (ABC) . You can read more about the evolution of ABC here. I got to meet a variety of artists who work in such an array of media. We’ve now been a community for 10 years sharing art successes, woes and showing work together. Meetings with this group has helped me grow as an artist and makes my life in Tokyo so much richer.
Arte Byte Critique has been pivotal in connecting artists living in the Tokyo Bay Area and over the decade we have been around, many artists have moved on to other areas around Japan and to other countries around the world and we are so grateful to be able to keep these strong connections going. The participating artists are both local and international artists from a wide variety of nationalities and backgrounds
